Family

We are a family of master olive millers who have built our foundation on trust, the value of hard work, and a deep connection to the land — the essential ingredients behind our high-quality extra virgin olive oil.

Olive millers by choice

The Appetito family’s story has been intertwined with the production of extra virgin olive oil for generations, offering a product that families trust for the integrity and dedication behind it.

An olive mill is more than ‘just’ a place. In fact, it’s an ancient  community ritual of olive cultivation, built on the reliance between farmers and millers. At the heart of Frantoio Appetito is a family of skilled millers who have made trust, hard work, and a deep connection to the land the foundation of their high-quality extra virgin olive oil.

Where the extra-virgin olive oil originates

It all began in 1977, when grandfather Alessandro and his son Luigi decided to turn their shared dream into reality: building a mill in the heart of their village. With state-of-the-art equipment for the time, they reimagined extra virgin olive oil as a premium food, aiming to create a flavour that would perfectly complement traditional dishes.

As the years passed, and with the arrival of the next generation, Alessandro and Marco, the family’s legacy continued with the same passion and determination.

Our mill and the community of Cori

Thanks to its expertise, Frantoio Appetito has been able to highlight the strengths of the Cori region, located just an hour south of Rome. Cori is ideal for olive cultivation, thanks to the mild climate. The Mediterranean Sea influences the climate, together with the Lepini Mountains sheltering the olive groves.

Frantoio Appetito produces extra virgin olive oil following the Italian olive farming tradition that is cultivated from the trust of countless small farmers who choose it year after year, generation after generation.
